Race 3 – True North Stakes, (Grade 2) 6.5 furlongs for 4 year olds and up
5 Strobe (2-1) runs for Brad Cox with Florent Geroux on the mount as he carries the lightweight. He has never finished worse than second in six career starts and has fired 100+ speed figures every time. 1 Today’s Flavor (5-1) ran a strong 4th in the 7 furlong Grade 1 Carter then came back to win the non graded Affirmed at 6 furlongs. 4 Elite Power (4-5) runs for Bill Mott for the first time since returning from Saudi Arabia where he won the Grade 3 Dirt Sprint by 3+ lengths. He has not lost since breaking his maiden six races ago.

She carries the heavyweight here today. 2 Search Results (4-1) has not won since the Molly Pitcher at Monmouth last July on Haskell Day. 1 Pass the Champagne (8-1) won the Ruffian last time by five lengths over the Belmont surface. 6 Clairiere (6-5) won a great race in the Apple Blossom by a neck over Secret Oath. 5 Played Hard (6-1) gets Johnny V on the mount for the second straight time after winning last time out over Secret Oath and Search Results in the La Troienne.

3 Arabian Lion (4-1) won the Sir Barton on Preakness day for Bob Baffert and Johnny V. 4 General Jim (7-2) won the Pat Day Mile for his second straight win against a quality field. 7 Federal Judge (8-1) is two for two in his young career and faces stakes competition for the first time. 13 Drew’s Gold (8-1) is four for four and all in dominant fashion.

Race 9 – Jaipur Stakes, (Grade 1) six furlongs Widener Turf for three year olds and up
11 Casa Creed (9-2) has won this race two straight years and is seeking to become the first horse since Forego in 1974 to win the same Grade 1 race three straight times. 10 Big Invasion (6-1) ran a throw away 7th in the Turf Spring on Derby Day for Christophe Clement and Joel Rosario. 12 Caravel (3-1) has won four in a row and five of six for Brad Cox. He’ll be on the lead and will look to wire the field. 9 Nothing Better (8-1) lost by a neck to BeerCanMan who no one was touching on Derby Day.

Race 10 – Met Mile Handicap, (Grade 1) 1 mile for three year olds and up
1 Cody’s Wish (7-5) has won five straight with 110+ speed figures each time. It is going to take some doing to get past him. 6 Zandon (5-1) Chad Brown seems to have settled a mile for this talented son of Upstart. 7 Repo Rocks (4-1) won the grade 3 Westchester on May 5th after running a tough second in the Carter a month earlier.

Race 11 – Manhattan Stakes, (Grade 1) 1 ¼ miles Inner Turf for four year olds and up
4 Ottoman Fleet (5-2) won in his first race in the states last time out on May 6th at Belmont. 2 Strong Quality (15-1) at high odds he is great value having won his last two races, both Allowance level. Carries the lightweight for Mark Casse and Florent Geroux. 6 Red Knight (8-1) won the Man o War on May 13th as a 9 year old and seems to be in perfect form having another win and a place in three races this year. 7 Rockemperor (12-1) runs for the second time as gelding and provides excellent value at 10-1 or better. 8 Up to the Mark (8-5) is a very short price in a what many consider to be a wide open race. He has won three of four and carries the heavyweight for Irad and Todd.

The Belmont Stakes is all about early speed and pedigree. 7 Hit Show (10-1) has the breeding to go the mile and half and the early speed to stay close to the two early leaders, 4 National Treasure (5-1) and 5 Il Miracolo (30-1). 2 Tapit Trice (3-1) should run a good race, but has had trouble early in each of his last three starts and is a short price. 6 Forte (5-2) is just too much a unknown having only raced twice as a three year old and coming in off a 10 week layoff.
