Breeder's Cup Betting Guide and Preview

Breeder’s Cup Betting Guide – Saturday Nov 7th, 2020

Race 4 – Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, (Grade 1) 7 Furlongs for 3 Year Olds and Up

2 Gamine (7-5) is the class of this race and division. She had won four in a row before faltering in the 9 furlong Kentucky Oaks, proving she is best at a mile and under. 1 Speech (6-1) has had an impressive 2020 finishing 2nd four times while winning the Grade 1 Ashland before a disappointing and distant 4th in the Oaks. 7 Serengeti Empress (3-1) is too short odds for a filly that hasn’t had an impressive win last year’s Oaks. 6 Venetian Harbor (8-1) might be peaking at the right time coming off a win last time out and not finishing worst that 2nd in each of her last 7 starts.

Bets: Win 2 Tri Box 2,6,1

Race 5 – Breeder’s Cup Turf Sprint, (Grade 1) 5.5 Furlongs on the Turf for 3 Year Olds and Up

1 Big Runner (12-1) with 3 wins in a row this son of Stormy Atlantic can not be ignored. He is a true sprinter and has handled tough competition all year while never missing the board in each of his last 7 races. 3 Imprimis (4-1) has won back to back Grade 3’s and now jumps up in class again after last year’s debacle in this race. 6 Glass Slippers (12-1) runs for the first time in the States after compiling 4 wins in 7 races in Europe. 7 Leinster (4-1) set the track record here and is in perfect form entering this race. 12 Got Stormy (7-2) has won back to back Grade 3’s and fired a bullet on Oct 23rd.

Bets: WPS 1,6 Win 7,12 Exacta Box 1,6,7,12

Race 6 – Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile, Grade 1 One Mile for 3 Year Olds and Up

1 Art Collector (6-1) ran an absolute clunker in the Preakness after a string of 5 straight wins against somewhat suspect competition. 4 War of Will (10-1)has proven his chops at the mile distance winning over the Keenland track on July 10th and finishing within 2 lengths in the Woodbine Mile. 5 Knicks Go (7-2) isn’t quite a Grade 1 horse and will struggle against the best of the best, but Brad Cox and Joel Rosario have this son of Paynter firing on all cylinders. 7 Rushie (20-1) won the Pat Day Mile to earn his way in and has been training great. 10 Complexity (2-1) has won twice in his last three races including the Grade 2 Kelso by over two lengths. Chad Brown and Jose Ortiz team up and have the deserving favorite.

Bets: Win 10 Exacta Box 4,10,7

Race 7 – Breeder’s Cup Filly and Mare Turf, (Grade 1) 1 3/16 Miles on the Turf for 3 Year Olds and Up

1 Starship Jubilee (10-1) won the Woodbine Mile after finishing 4th in the Diana which broke a 4 race win streak. 2 Sistercharlie (6-1) was once the best Mare in the world not named Midnight Bisou. Sadly she looks well past her prime with three 3rd place finishes in a row. 6 Rushing Fall (5-2) has won three races in a row all at 1 1/16thor further, add in the super connections of Chad Brown and Javier Castellano and she is a mare to watch. 4 Mean Mary (7-2) is a true distance filly won does better the further she goes, winning the Orchid at 1 3/8th and the La Prevoyante at 1 ½. 10 Civil Union (12-1) has won 4 in a row for Shug and Joel Rosario all at 1 ¼ or further. 14 Cayenne Pepper (8-1) ships to the US for the first time after a great stretch of races in Ireland.

Bets: Win 6, 10 Tri Box 1,4,6,2

Race 8 – Breeder’s Cup Sprint, (Grade 1) 6 Furlongs for 3 Year Olds and Up

2 C Z Rocket (7-2) has won 5 in a row since being claimed by Peter Miller. 3 Collusion Illusion (20-1) has won 5 times in 7 races dating back to last July. His most recent lost came to C Z Rocket but 1.25 lengths. 7 Whitmore (15-1)looks past his good running days as he has disappointed in each of his last two races. 8 Firenze Fire (8-1) with back to back Graded Stake wins he has finally found his stride. 10 Yaupon (7-2) is an inexperienced 3 year old for Steve Asmussen and Joel Rosario who has won his only 4 races. 11 Diamond Oops (8-1) looks to be a cut below the top contenders here but should be totally ignored. 14 Vekoma (3-1) has been on the shelf since July 4th when he ran a great Met Mile finishing a string of 4 wins in 5 races.

Bets: Win 2,11,8 Exacta Box 2,8,11,10,14

Race 9 – Breeder’s Cup Mile, (Grade 1) One Mile on the Turf for 3 Year Olds and Up

1 Circus Maximus (12-1) runs for the first time in the States after two 2nds in Europe. 5 Digital Age (8-1) runs for Chad Brown with Javier Castellano on the mount. He has won two in a row including the Grade 1 Turf Classic. 7 Casa Creed (20-1) is an honest horse that could hit the board for a late show or place. 10 Halladay (12-1) has won 3 of 4 but has been freshening since August for Todd Pletcher and Luis Saez. 13 Factor This (8-1) has not missed a beat this year winning 5 of 6 races. 11 Ivar (4-1) has done nothing wrong in his young career for Paulo Lobo and Joe Talamo.

Bets: Win 5,13,11 Exacta Box 1.7,13,4

Race 10 – Breeder’s Cup Distaff, (Grade 1) 1 1/8thfor 3 Year Olds

4 Horologist (8-1) won going a 1 1/8thlast time out in the Grade 2 Beldame at Belmont for Bill Mott and Junior Alvarado. 5 Swiss Skydiver (2-1) ran a great Preakness and has had 7 weeks to freshen for what should be her crowning moment. 7 Point of Honor (30-1) has finished in the money in 10 of 11 races including her last 7 in a row. 8 Valiance (12-1) has won three in a row for Pletcher including the Grade 1 Spinster over this Keenland track at distance on Oct 4th. 10 Monomoy Girl (8-5) is unquestioned the best older Mare running. She has won 12 of her 14 lifetime races including a mind numbing 10 in a row for Brad Cox and Florent Geroux.

Bets: Win 5 Exacta Box 5,10,8,7 Tri Box 5,10/5,10,4,7,8/4,7,8,9

Race 11 – Breeder’s Cup Turf, (Grade 1) 1 ½ Miles on the Turf for 3 Year Olds and Up

2 Magical (5-2) out of the Champion Sire Galileo comes to the US for the first time for Aidan O’Brien with Ryan Moore on the mount. 3 Tarnawa (6-1) has won three in a row in France and looks to add to a standout year. 7 United (8-1) runs for Richard Mandella with Flavien Prat and has won 4 times in his last 5 races and finished in the money in each of his last 10 races. 8 Red King (20-1) has been dominant on the West Coast at this distance since early May. 9 Channel Maker (5-1) has found his stride late in his career winning back to back Grade 1’s in August and October for Manny Franco and Bill Mott.

Bets: WPS 9,7,8 Exacta Box 2,3,7,9

Race 12 – Breeder’s Cup Classic, (Grade 1) 1 ¼ Miles for 3 Year Olds and Up

1 Tacitus (20-1) has underperformed his whole career and this Saturday won’t be any different. 2 Tiz the Law (3-1) looked unbeatable until a rumored to be juiced up Authentic held him off in the Derby. We expect a great performance by this uber talented 3 year old. 4 Tom’s d’Etat (6-1) had won 4 times in a row dating back to October last year before a bad race in the Whitney. 7 Global Campaign (20-1) is hitting his stride in his 4 year old, which is very typical of Curlins, who tend to be late bloomers. Beware the Castellano bump and make sure to take a deep look into this very live longshot. 8 Improbable (5-2) has won 3 in a row, all Grade 1’s the last two only at 1 1/8th. Bob Baffert will no doubt have this impressive horse ready to run and can not be over looked. 9 Authentic (6-1) ran a great Derby and then could not close in the Preakness. Running for the third time since September against the best field yet and short-ish odds he is a strong pass. 10 Maximum Security (7-2) got his doors blown off in the Awesome Again by Improbable which was his first loss since the Pegasus in May of 2019.

Bets: Win 2,8 WPS 7 Exacta Box 2,4,8,10 Exacta Box 2,8,10,7

Bets: Tri Box 11,6,4,1 WPS 11

Race 8 - Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies, (Grade 1) 1 1/16thMiles for 2 Year Old Fillies

1 Simply Ravishing (5-2) is a perfect 3 for 3 two of which were at distance for Kenny McPeek and Luis Saez. 3 Dayoutoftheoffice (5-2) has won all 3 lifetime races but never gone further than a mile. 5 Girl Daddy (6-1) is two for two and a classic example of a great early developing Uncle Mo filly. 7 Princess Noor (9-5) has won all 3 lifetime races and gets better each time out for Bob Baffert and Victor Espinoza.

Bets: Win 1 Exacta Box 1,3,7,5
